What we believe

What we believe

About the bible:

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. It is a living Word that comes alive when we obey it! (2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12)

Who god is:

We believe that there is one eternal,  indivisible God, who has been manifest in flesh, through the man Christ Jesus, the son of God, and that the Spirit of God now fills the hearts of believers through power of the Holy Ghost. (Deuteronomy 6:4, John 1:14, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 1:15, 2:9, Hebrews 1:2-3, 1 Timothy 3:16)

About sin and salvation:

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that Jesus Christ purchased salvation for all through his death on the cross (Romans 3:23-24.) We receive salvation by the grace of God, through faith (Ephesians 2:8, Titus 3:5.)

About the gospel:

We believe the message of the gospel is simple; Jesus Christ died for us, was buried, and resurrected on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-4.)

We obey the gospel message by identifying ourselves with it in repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial of our old life) and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection) (see Acts 2:38). We believe that when a person is baptized with the Holy Ghost, they will speak with other tongues as the Spirit gives them the utterance (Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:6, 1 Corinthians 14:18.)

About christian living:

We believe that as Christians, we should love God, and love others (Mark 12:28-31). We should strive to live a holy life before God (2 Corinthians 7:1, Hebrews 12:14), and should walk in the new life of the Spirit God has given us (Romans 6:1-4, Colossians 3:1-2). We believe that the operation and gifts of the Spirit are indeed for the church today (1 Corinthians 12:1, 4-11.)
